Victor Mazon Gardoqui´s work questions perception, altered state and vulnerability through un/stable arrangements. His work materializes in three main fields: actions or site-specific performances through experimental processes, exhibitions as consequences of previous actions and collective work through collaborative groups, or seminars in cultural and academic centers. Since 1999 involved into experimental tactics and techniques of media intervention through site specific actions, performances and installations in public spaces by using sound, light and custom electronics.
Participants will be introduced to experimental techniques and tools designed for listening to and receiving signals and frequencies outside our hearing range. They will experience the receiving of signals from different kinds of antennae, amplifiers, microphones as well as VLF/ELF receivers, ultrasounds, high frequency receiving systems, electromagnetic detectors, converters of light to sound and hydrophones. The aim is to present an up to date research (PhD Candidate University of Vasc Country) to provide a theoretical and practical approach in which participants will learn the basic concepts of working with D.I.Y. electronics and open source software and hardware to receive those frequencies.Intended for: creators, engineers, hackers, students of fine arts and industrial design, and the general public. The participants will have some time at the end of the lecture to test and use the materials presentes. There will also be reading material available. No previous knowledge is required but although more advanced participants are welcome to open a discussion and questions for their own investigations to share it with the group.
